After more than a decade working in international development in Africa, Asia, and Europe, I relocated to the US to focus on family priorities. I soon began to miss the work and the fulfillment I felt in aiding others, so I sought out a way in which I could balance my two passions: family and global health development. After reflecting on my experiences, I recognized a gap that many development organizations face and the critical need for diverse communications support. And thus, JMO Communications was launched in 2017. Building on my professional global network, I’ve convened an incredible team of professionals working across time zones, cultures, and thematic areas to meet the needs of the development community.
I chose to headquarter JMO in Missouri, USA to not only have a lower overhead cost, be centrally based, and ease the ability to coordinate with our global team and clientele, but to also be near family.
On a more personal level, as a woman and mother myself, I seek to promote the diversity and inclusion of women, people with disabilities, and minorities from all nations. This vision of co-collaboration, mutual support, and problem-solving motivates me every day.
