Associate Director of Applied Research & Implementation
The Population Health Innovation Lab, leading the Local Health Department Data Use for Outbreak Response in Healthcare Settings Technical Assistance project, needed expert support to develop high-quality educational materials for the National Association of County and City Health Officials. These materials were designed to strengthen the ability of local health departments to respond effectively to healthcare-associated outbreaks. To be effective, the content needed to be both accessible and aligned with public health best practices – requiring a partner skilled in refining complex information and presenting it through professional, user-friendly design.
JMO Communications served as a strategic partner, providing expert editing and design support to transform complex public health content into accessible, engaging materials for local health departments. We edited and designed a suite of user-friendly resources – including a strategic collaboration guide, an equity framework, and a data management tool – ensuring clarity, consistency, and visual impact. By structuring the content for readability and practical use, and enhancing the design for ease of navigation, we delivered effective tools that helped strengthen data literacy and operational readiness among local health departments, supporting a more resilient public health response system.
